In late 2020, during COVID, Codie Guillory, a model, posted on social media about needing/wanting some maternity photos. I messaged her about it since I've only done a couple of maternity shots in the past and wanted to do more. She said she looked at my work and liked it so we agreed to meet at a studio that she recommended, The G.A.T.E. Studio, in mid-January of 2021. I've never been there before but it was great and the hosts were accommodating. It was nice to meet her and her mom as they were more excited about the shoot than I was. After I got the camera and flash settings to my liking, I started taking shots in 2 different rooms as she changed into different outfits accordingly. Her mom was a big help, getting me to relax as she was fluffing and smoothing out all of her daughter's outfits and making sure everything was on point.
After the shoot was over, needless to say I was proud of my work and couldn't wait to get into post production. Codie and her mom were also happy with what they saw in my camera but were also anxious to see the finished product. Later, I downloaded the photos, edited them and sent them to her. She was happy with the work but to my surprise, she thought enough of them to send a couple to be published in ALM Magazine. I was shocked and thrilled. It took a few months but I got the magazine in digital and hard cover format. It's a honor to see my work displayed in a publication. So now I can say that I am a published photographer!!!
